When does the window close in Greece and in the rest of the countries? What is the situation for single people?

The January transfer window has ended in Greece and the free transfer period for footballers begins immediately. What about foreign countries?

The January transfer window for Greece ends on Wednesday, with clubs having just a few hours to conclude deals with other clubs.

The “window” opens on New Year’s Day and closes on January 31 at 11:59 pm, as announced in the summer via “Regulating the ownership and transfer of football playersFrom the European Patent Office.

This means that Greek teams cannot buy players after this date, but can sell players or deal with free agent situations.

What is the situation with singles in Greece?

Greek teams will have more space to bolster their roster with…the usual sideline. The free agent transfer “window” will open on February 1st and will remain open until Friday the 9th.

This means that Greek teams can sign players released by their previous teams until January 31.

When do you close the windows outside?

The world's biggest leagues close the transfer window on February 1. Spain, Italy, England, Germany, France, the Netherlands and Belgium will complete their transfers on Thursday.

Portugal concludes transfers on February 2, Austria and Australia on 6, Turkey on 9, and Romania on 12. The Russian championship concludes even later on February 22, although the gold medal goes to Kazakhstan, where transfers close in April. 5.

Outside Europe, the UAE market closes on February 21, the China market closes at the end of the month, while the Brazil market closes in March.

There are also a number of countries that have not started their transfers yet. Many of them follow an inverted calendar, while some completed their transfers mid-season and will open a new window in the summer.
