With the publication of its first trailer Grand Theft Auto VIthe Rock star announced that the game is expected to be released during the year 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series Others Introduce the next chapter to consoles first.
For your information, Grand Theft Auto V was originally released in September 2013 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, while it arrived in November 2014 for Xbox One and PS4. After all, the open-world title came to PC about two years late, in April 2015. Something similar happened with Red Dead Redemption 2, which initially only became available for PS4 and Xbox One in October 2018, with a Windows version. It becomes available in November of the following year.
But what about the PC version of GTA 6?
The president of Take-Two, the parent company of Rockstar, came out to give an answer to this question in some way. Specifically, during an interview at the TD Cowen conference, CEO Strauss Zelnick was asked if the lack of a PC announcement was a foregone conclusion, or if the game could actually be confirmed for the platform at a later date. So Zelnick said:
“The lack of an announcement is not a given, as far as I can tell, because the only thing that happens after there is no announcement is…an announcement, I think, or a continued lack of announcement. I think that could happen too. Nor It seems to me that either scenario can be taken for granted at this point.
However, Rockstar has a cross-platform approach that we’ve seen before and we will be making more announcements in the future. I think the right strategy for our business is to be where the consumer is, and historically what this company has done is reach consumers where they are, on whatever platform makes sense, over time.
In practical terms, Take-Two’s president hinted at this Rockstar Games will likely follow its familiar strategyBut without ruling out the possibility of seeing an ad earlier. But the most likely scenario is that GTA 6 instead of It will come a year later on PCAs we’ve seen happen before with RDR 2.
