Woman murdered in Salamis: “She couldn’t walk,” says 43-year-old sister

His sister tries to shed light on the circumstances of the 43-year-old’s murder by his accomplice in Salamina, referring to a complaint made three days before the heinous crime.

As it was known from the beginning, the 43-year-old went to the local police station last Saturday to report being beaten up by her partner. In fact, the police officers advised her to download the panic button on her mobile phone so that she could press it if she was in danger, but unfortunately she did not do it in time.

Her 43-year-old sister, speaking to ANT1, said, “She was so badly beaten that she couldn’t even walk.” Last Friday night, when the 43-year-old and her mother called the police to file a complaint, officers told them “there was no patrol car, there was nothing they could do, she had to go there herself. Report the incident”. When they went back to the department, according to the 43-year-old sister, it was not easy for them, and eventually the two women left and returned the next day.

“The police may have found him.”

“On the day the beating was reported, the culprit was working,” says the 43-year-old sister, pointing out that the police may have found him because “he was walking around like nothing happened.”

“No jealousy, they fought because he didn’t go to work”

As the 71-year-old man responsible for the murder told the prosecutor, he makes it clear that jealousy was not an issue in their relationship.

“There is no jealousy, they have known each other for seven years. “He was cozying up to a girl and they started fighting because she wasn’t working,” he says characteristically.

Speaking emotionally about her sister’s baby, she said, “Thinking of her baby who was with her that whole day. Apart from my sister, the perpetrator did not think he had destroyed a single child.”

ELAS’s response to his sister’s allegations

The press representative of EL.AS, Constantina Dimoglido, spoke to Live News in response to what the victim’s sister said.

“What I know from the Salamina Police Station is that on Friday night a woman called the police in panic, unable to explain what had happened, complaining that her child had been assaulted, apparently the mother of the victim, to tell the officer on duty exactly where he is or at least tell him to come to the department. He asked and said, ‘I am coming from there'”.

“He went to the police station with the badly beaten girl in the car, her wounds were bleeding, the police officer told me, and of course he immediately referred her to the health center to give her first aid.”

“The Salamina Health Center did not have this equipment, and the nurses referred the woman to a general hospital. I am quoting you. The woman herself testified at the police station the next day, when she was asked why she did not come back to the station. She was referred to a general hospital in Attica and a private doctor because she wanted to treat her injuries. He said he wanted to find out and that’s why he went to the AT of Salamis on Saturday.

“Most victims of domestic violence who come to the police agency do not want to report their abuser. The next day, the woman personally thanked the commander who reprimanded the abuser and convinced the victim to leave the house where she lived with the abuser,” the press representative of EL.AS concluded.
