August is approaching and as it happens every month, it will bring with it new additions to the Xbox Game PassNow, ahead of the official announcement of the first games coming to the service this summer, we’ve got an early look at some of the biggest upcoming additions.
More specifically, this was announced by a reliable leaker and podcast host nicknamed “NateDrake.” Mafia Definitive Edition is coming to Xbox Game Pass in August. However, the leaker did not specify exactly when we can expect the title in August, so it will likely arrive with the next wave of additions, i.e. in the second half of the month.
Mafia Definitive Edition was released in 2020 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It is a complete remake of the beloved 2002 title, taking advantage of the modern graphics engine that was also used in Mafia III. The game enriched the experience with new dialogue, richer character backstories, and additional cinematic effects. At the same time, it added new gameplay scenes, as well as various quality of life improvements.
Unfortunately, while the game impressed with its technical side, it did not receive an upgrade for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Therefore, the version that will be added to Xbox Game Pass will be playable via backwards compatibility on Microsoft’s new Xbox systems, without additional improvements.
