President Volodymyr Zelensky ordered the creation of a special commission to check the heads of all the draft offices in Ukraine today.
And the Ukrainian president, after a meeting with his military staff, announced that the commission would be headed by Deputy Defense Minister Oleksandr Pavlyuk.
The decision was made following the revelation of a corruption scandal involving the head of a recruiting office. According to a report in the newspaper Ukrainska Pravda, his family has acquired millions of dollars worth of property and cars in Spain. Zelensky announced that he had already ordered his overthrow.
“I have issued an urgent order to set up a commission – together with law enforcement authorities and the National Anti-Corruption Service – that will check all heads of military offices in all regions of Ukraine so that no one embarrasses the country, we and the memory of the fallen heroes at the front,” Volodymyr Zelensky said in a post on the platform.
